We were 27 riders and only 6 can get qualified to ride in the finals.
I think it was the hardest competition I have ever done. We were between 35º and 40º degrees plus the sections were really tough and long, which made them really physical. It was three laps of five sections each. Started really good and only did two mistakes due to the heat. I had to stop for a moment and put some ice around my face, neck and body because I was starting to lose focus and feeling a little dizzy. After taking some time to rest, I did all the other sections with full score.
Ended up in 4th place but more than enough to have the opportunity to ride the finals the following day. It was time to rest, recover and focus for the final.
FINALS
Started the final super motivated and felt super strong on the bike.
The fist two sections I did 60 points, the maximum score, but at the 3rd section in the last obstacle I failed and only did 50. I was 3rd in the standings. At the 4th section I did 60 points and I managed to be on 2nd position. In the last section the top 3 riders had yet the opportunity to win the title. I started my last section super focused and I knew exactly what to do in every single obstacle. I did a perfect run with 60 point so I secured the 2nd place. All the pressure was on my rival. He only did 20 points so I finally won the competition with an advantage of 30 points!
