World Cup - Berlin
In my opinion, this World Cup was one of the best competitions I’ve ever been a part of. It wasn’t just about the result—it was the overall experience that made it so memorable. The organization of the entire event was spot on, and the sections were built perfectly. They were challenging, but also a lot of fun to ride.
The competition took place at the old Berlin airport, which gave it a unique and interesting backdrop. The stands were filled with fans who were really enjoying the event, cheering as the riders tackled the sections. It was great to have that support from the crowd while riding such amazing sections.
This World Cup wasn’t just about competing—it was about the whole experience, from the well-designed sections to the atmosphere of the venue. A truly special event.
I rode the quarter-finals on Saturday and managed to qualify for the semi-finals with the top 25 riders in the world on Sunday morning. The sections were tough, but I gave it my all and made it through to the final, finishing in 3rd placeoverall—meaning I would compete with the 6 best riders in the world in the final round.
I was feeling highly motivated, especially since I really enjoyed the sections. However, at this level, even the smallest mistake can cost you, and that’s exactly what happened in the first two sections. In Section 1, I got 5 penalty points for running out of time, and in Section 2, I went over an arrow. Those early mistakes put me on the back foot, but I didn’t let them hold me back.
I focused and gave it my best in the last section, riding it clean and feeling much better. In the end, I finished in 5th placeoverall, which I’m happy with considering the challenges.
I’m already looking forward to competing in Berlin again soon. The event was incredible, and I can’t wait to be back.
